Rev. Jim Brazell
Jim emailed the following to me this week.
The Crestview Presbyterian Church Adult Bible Study has been reading selected psalms. The September 27, 2026 class was invited to write a psalm about God’s Creation. I did not do that. I ended up composing a paraphrase of A Brief Statement of Faith…
Thank you Jim! Here’s what he shared:
Provident, nurturant God, your being exceeds our reason,
Yet you are known through Nature and the Human heart.
You do not keep yourself apart from us, but covenant with Abraham and Sarah’s descendants, modeling the political ways we organize.
At one time of your own choosing, you became human. In Jesus Christ we hear your word, share your way, and experience your love.
Faithful in life and in death, Jesus proves your abundant, everlasting love. In your life we find true life and share that life with the world.
You are forever present within and around as Spirit. We are supported by your agency and authority. We reach out to others in needs and protect human dignity from those who would diminish human life for their own gain.
You called the Church to life and service in the authoritative witness to Jesus Christ . We are imperfect witnesses, in continual need of your reclaiming and renewing grace.
All praise to you, O God, for the life and love we share with you and the world. Selah.
