Shawn Barkley – Director of PresbyLab

Shawn is originally from Lynchburg, Virginia, and shortly thereafter moved with his family to Richmond, Kentucky.  He graduated from the Richmond Model School and Western Kentucky University.  He spent his college summers working at Camp Burnamwood, and then a Law Firm during the school year where God began to form his sense of call. He recalls feeling a strong nudge from the Holy Spirit to devote his life to serving God and the church as his vocation.  He is a graduate of Columbia Seminary and has served churches in North Carolina, Kentucky, and Ohio.  He is married and has one son.  He is the Pastor of Walnut Hill Church in Lexington, KY, and also serves as Director of PresbyLab, a Lilly Grant-funded ministry of the Presbytery of Cincinnati that supports and equips pastors who serve in the congregational context. He sees an exciting future for PresbyLab as we’re working to establish partnerships with neighboring Presbyteries and Louisville Seminary.
