Yes – We ARE Moving Forward and Bringing Everyone Along
by Lisa Allgood, Executive Presbyter
“For where two or three gather together as my followers, I am there among them.”
If you were at our Gathering on February 8th at Madeira-Silverwood, you were able to celebrate a lot of cool things with us – and if you missed it, well, you missed a lot of cool things!
We had an amazing speaker in the Reverend Paul Burns. We celebrated the commissioning of Lee Sanders to pastoral service at Aurora. We worked through most of the overtures from the 226th General Assembly (the others will at the May Gathering). You heard what Council has been up to, and about an exciting new resource Council is providing in a Gun Violence Prevention and Awareness Toolkit.
We have 5 amazing workshops that spanned deepening our spiritual approach to ministry, to understanding Celtic Christianity, to learning how Discipling others disciples us, to learning how to start better online engagement, to refreshing our Ruling Elder preachers.
And – we unveiled our new logo.
Not a Presbytery known to stand still, we take very seriously the annual “statements” we have had for the past several years. We started with Beloved Community – because as a connectional church, that is truly who we are. We Bridged to Love as we started to Move Forward. And as we continue to Move Forward, we want to Bring Everyone Along.
As a Presbytery, we have promised to be a strong Relational Catalyst and Resource to all our churches, and to live up to and into our own Mission Statement:
Connecting and equipping congregations to bear witness to the overwhelming hope, audacious joy, and contagious love of Jesus Christ.
So come with us – and Bring Everyone Along! We are Children of the One True King, and we want everyone to know the overwhelming hope, audacious joy, and contagious love of our Lord!
